Jennifer Gates and Nayel Nassar celebrate engagement with a Florida party
The couple have shared photos of the romantic event on Instagram
At the end of last month, Jennifer Gates, the eldest daughter of Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda, announced that she was engaged to Egyptian show jumper Nayel Nassar, flowing a romantic, snowy ski-break proposal. And now, the couple have shared photos seemingly from their engagement party.
Less than a fortnight after they went public with their engagement, the couple have both shown off photos from the same event in Wellington, Florida.
Nassar posted a photo of the delighted couple walking into the event together, with the caption: "Always putting a smile on my face".
And Gates shared a photo of her show jumper fiance kissing her forehead at sunset. She captioned the photo simply with a star emoji.
The couple have been together for just over two years and got engaged during a skiing holiday. They have a mutual love for equestrian sports. Nassar has qualified to represent Egypt in showjumping at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He is ranked 35th in the world. He grew up in Kuwait, where members of his family still live.
When the couple got engaged, they announced the news on Instagram.
Gates, a 23-year-old trainee doctor, wrote: "Nayel Nassar, you are one of a kind. Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions," she wrote. "I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over."
Her 29-year-old fiance, who represents Egypt in show jumping, echoed her sentiments, writing: "I’m feeling like the luckiest (and happiest) man in the world right about now.
"Jenn, you are everything I could have possibly imagined ... and so much more. I can’t wait to keep growing together through this journey called life, and I simply can’t imagine mine without you anymore. Love you more than you can possibly imagine, and thank you for making every single day feel like a dream to me. Here’s to forever!"
