Jumeirah Zabeel Saray at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, unveiled the World’s Most Luxurious Spa Experience to VIPs at a glamorous party on Thursday.
For Dh25,000, visitors to the Talise Ottoman Spa will be treated to a bespoke Margy’s facial courtesy of the skincare expert to the stars, Margie Lombard. This involves a 24-carat gold chain mask which, it’s claimed, slows down collagen depletion and the breakdown of elastin. The ultimate effect, says Lombard, is the regeneration and tightening of the skin.
Following the facial, clients will experience a gold hamam, topped off with a rose and argan oil massage. A gourmet caviar lunch follows and a premium Margy’s goody bag will be gifted to all upon departure.
We spoke to Lombard, who had flown in from Europe especially for the launch.
You’re in Monte Carlo, where you began your business in 1993. Would you relocate to Dubai?
I would love to, but for now I’ll be visiting every five to six weeks. I’ll be following up closely with the therapists, ensuring that the facials are being done exactly as they should be.
What’s special about the facial?
I developed it especially for Zabeel, using a prestige collagen which has a Botox-like effect. You’ll see the glow after just one and a half hours of treatment.
Tell us about your famous face masks, which are also being sold at Zabeel.
It’s pure collagen, which is dried first and actually forms the mask. When you apply it to the face, it plumps up your skin instantly.
How long do the results of the facial last for?
For three days minimum. And if you continue to use Margy’s products at home, there is a fantastic longer-lasting effect. So it’s good for brides, for anyone just before a big event and also those looking to maintain good levels of skin moisture. It’s also good for preventing wrinkles.
What’s your opinion on Botox and fillers?
A Botox injection won’t give you a nice texture, it will just plump up a wrinkle. Your skin has to be soft, moisturised, fresh, radiant and firm – and that’s what I’m all about.
