Natural motifs manufactured with the latest colouring techniques make this range of wallcoverings is bold, busy and full of life.
Wish List: Gardens of Amsterdam collection in full bloom
The Gardens of Amsterdam wallcoverings collection made its UAE debut on May 17. The new range is produced by the Netherlands-headquartered BN Wallcoverings and distributed in the UAE by BSH Walls and Floors. It was designed by Annet van Egmond, who is famous for her eponymous lighting sculptures and who previously collaborated with BN Wallcoverings on the Shadows on the Wall collection.
The new range was inspired by van Egmond's own garden and immediate surroundings, from restored stucco ornaments and ferns to wrought-iron fences. "As a person and as a designer, you are greatly influenced by your environment," she says. The new collection, she adds, is "not meant to be trendy but timeless".
We love the breadth of the range. From oversized rose prints on a black-and-white background to block pinks, inky blacks and bright blues, van Egmond has crammed an incredible amount of diversity into a single collection. Natural motifs are used intuitively and the wallcoverings have been manufactured using the latest print and colouring techniques, with silver and gold pigments providing a unique sheen. The end result is bold, busy and full of life.
