Dh125,000: Annual rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Dubai Marina

Features: The apartment is in the Bonaire building, within Emaar's Park Island development, which also includes the Blakely, Fairfield and Sanibel towers.

Pros: The apartment is tastefully furnished, with partial sea views from the living and dining area. The kitchen comes equipped with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher and toaster. The en-suite bedroom has built-in wardrobes and offers views of the Marina. Facilities within Bonaire include a swimming pool, gym and play area and allocated parking. Rent can be paid in two cheques.

Cons: Traffic congestion in and around the Marina area seems to be getting steadily worse, particularly at the weekends.

They say: A bright and inviting residence.

We say: This is at the high end of what you can expect to pay for a one-bed in the Marina, but it does come furnished, with a fully fitted kitchen. The waterside location is another strong selling point.
