Hansgrohe, the German manufacturer of bathroom fittings and shower heads, has launched an online savings calculator that demonstrates how its products can help users conserve water and energy, while cutting down on costs.
Products fitted with Hansgrohe's Ecosmart technology will consume up to 60 per cent less water than standard products, but promise the same levels of comfort. By consuming less hot water, Ecosmart users reduce their energy requirements and lower their carbon dioxide emissions while saving on their utility bills.
Hansgrohe maintains that this is particularly important in the UAE, where per capita water consumption rates reach up to 600 gallons per day, the highest in the world.
The new savings calculator can be accessed online at http://m.savings.hansgrohe.com. The tool displays potential water, energy and carbon dioxide savings and encourages users to adopt a more sustainable approach to their everyday routines.
To calculate savings, users are invited to select their desired product from a selection of three showers and three mixers fitted with Ecosmart technology. They must then enter their consumption data, which includes the number of people in their household, the average time spent showering, the water rate and the type of energy used. The tool will calculate the water and carbon dioxide savings afforded by the Ecosmart technology, as compared to a conventional product. It will also calculate how long it will take to make up the cost of procuring a new, sustainable Hansgrohe shower head or mixer.
