Create wall art out of fabric swatches or wallpaper remnants. Get three large, equal-sized pieces of your favourite fabric or wallpaper and place them in three simple frames to create a triptych that is as striking as it is inexpensive.
Give your kitchen a boost with multicoloured plant pots. Line three or four small, brightly coloured pots along the top of your fridge, windowsill or breakfast bar and fill them with herbs. We love Ikea's Majskorn pots, which come in an assortment of pretty pastel shades and only cost Dh5 each.
Turn your bookshelf into a design feature by painting the insides in a bright, bold shade. Be as dramatic as you like. When you put your books back on the shelf, group them by colour, leaving some stacked and others sitting upright.
Make your own custom-made table runner with a collage of brightly patterned napkins. Lay out an assortment of napkins in your desired design, tape the edges together and then flip over for a cheap and cheerful piece of table art.
