The best of Kerala at Airlines

Let's face it, there are times when we just want a familiar face and some old fashioned comfort food. Well, if you're in this type of mood, head down to Airlines Restaurant. This Abu Dhabi eatery specialises in Keralan food but it has been dishing out general Indian and Chinese fare since the 1980s. Head there on Friday and try the buffet: soups, salad, biryani, chicken lollipops, butter chicken and much more for just Dh35. If you're in lunch mode, try their banana leaf thali for Dh20. Airlines Restaurant is located in Al Markaziya, close to the Al Maha Arjaan hotel on Hamdan Street.

Purrfect your cat-eyes

Even for those who think they're good at doing make-up, the one thing that usually proves most challenging is the ability to do a decent cat-eye with liner. Enter The Vamp Stamp's VaVaVoom Stamp. There are multiple beauty gurus on YouTube who prove it makes doing a standout cat-eye that is precise and matches much easier. The VaVaVoom Stamp is available in three sizes – kitten, medium and large – depending on how dramatic you want your liner to be. The make-up tool has two wing-shaped rubber stamps that you need to dip into a liner (you can either use a liquid, or a gel, whichever you prefer). Then you place it on the edge of the eye, stamp and connect it to the liner on your lid. This helpful tool takes a little time to master the technique but it will almost certainly up your cat-eye game. If you have trouble applying your liner evenly, then this could be for you. The VaVaVoom Stamp will set you back around Dh100 and is available to purchase online from www.cultbeauty.co.uk
