Abu Dhabi avo goodness

While some people may not go much on the whole avocado on toast trend, most are unable to resist a good guacamole. With quite a few Mexican restaurant offerings to choose from, we've managed to track down one of the tastiest guacamoles in Abu Dhabi – at El Sombrero at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort. Chef Froylan Lara's preparation is creamy, with the just the right amount of spice and tanginess, and is topped off with crumbled feta and cherry tomatoes. The nachos that come with it are great too. A portion of the avo goodness costs Dh46. To make a reservations at El Sombrero call 02 304 8362 or go to www.sheratonabudhabihotel.com

Rotana floats the idea of mat workouts in the pool

FloatUAE has finally made its way to the capital, and tomorrow from 10am the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana is hosting a series of free 20-minute taster session for interested fitness enthusiasts. FloatUAE is touted as the “ultimate individual training platform”, and as the name suggests, you perch yourself on a workout mat in the pool and undertake all the exercises you do in the gym - squats, jumps, burpees. It’s not all hard work, there are games and team building exercises too. While we’re told this two-hour window has been so popular there are few places left, there are sure to be longer classes in place in the future. We hope Abu Dhabi gym junkies will be floating regularly soon.

Try the 20-minute FloatUAE taster classes tomorrow at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, and do squats, jumps, lunges and burpees on the pool. FloatUAE
