With Vogue Cafe now up and running in Dubai, one of the world's most famous magazine publishers has announced an opening date and location for its next project in the emirate: the GQ Bar.

The sleek venue is set to open in October at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, according to Condé Nast International Restaurants.

The news comes on the back of the company's successful recent launch of Vogue Cafe in Dubai Mall in May.

"In less than a month, we have opened our first restaurant in the Middle East," said division director Stuart Nielson.

"We have received positive and encouraging feedback and now after securing a magnificent location, we're able to share details of our second venture in the region."

Themed after the iconic men's fashion magazine, the 10,700 square foot venue is spread across two floors, serving contemporary cuisine for lunch and dinner. The interior has been designed by Condé Nast International Restaurants Chef Gary Robinson.

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai general manager Rupprecht Queitsch hailed the partnership with fashion brand.

"We are very excited to enter a partnership with GQ Bar, a world-recognised, powerful brand, that will make an excellent addition to our food and beverage portfolio," he said.

"I am sure GQ Bar will become another highlight in Dubai's vibrant lounge bar scene and we are delighted to join them in this promising partnership."

Seehal Shal, co-founder of the local licensee Inspired Brands, said the Dubai venue would be consistent with the style of the magazine.

"GQ Bar exemplifies the unparalleled quality of the brand in a sleek and stylish venue," he said.

"GQ magazine is all about class and sophistication and the bar will reflect this in an interactive environment of great music paired with fantastic food and drinks.

Judging by Vogue Cafe's recent opening bash, GQ Bar Dubai's launch party should draw some notables, in the way of sporting types and fashionistas.

Attending the Dubai Mall party were models Karolina Kurkova, Petra Nemcova and Marcus Schenkenberg.

Former Chelsea footballer Didier Drogba also flew in to sample the cuisines and extensive mocktail menu.

GQ Bar Dubai will be the third international outlet for the brand after Moscow and Istanbul.

Vogue Cafe can also be found in Moscow, with future launches planned in Bangkok and Singapore.
