If you want to find out more about the current market value and authenticity of a piece of jewellery or precious stone, take it down to Sotheby’s Dubai.

The international auction house opened its office and gallery space at Dubai International Financial Centre earlier this year, and from October 24, will offer UAE residents a free valuation of their jewels every week.

The pieces will be appraised by jewellery specialists, giving guests a chance to meet and interact with Sotheby’s experts, and learn more about the jewel and gemstone market, and be aware of what to look out for when buying precious trinkets in the future.

Katia Nounou Boueiz, head of Sotheby's Dubai office, said: "Over the past years, we have seen collectors in the region playing an ever-growing part in our jewellery sales globally. We are therefore thrilled to be able to offer our clients in Dubai the opportunity to regularly meet with our specialists."
