Zoco, a Mexican and Latin American restaurant, will open in Dubai at The Atrium next month. Located on The Atrium’s second floor, Zoco will be an urban, trendy restaurant serving up traditional dishes with contemporary style.

The Atrium, a focal point in Al Habtoor City, will house seven restaurants and bars over five levels when it’s complete. The venue’s first restaurant — an English pub called The Rose & Crown — opened last week.

Zoco’s head chef Jimmy Rojas has nearly three decades of experience, including stints with Michelin-star legends Alain Ducasse from Paris and Oscar Calleja from Spain. Rojas says, “I like to respect the product and enhance its natural flavour while playing with different textures and flavours, using a variety of culinary techniques to create harmony in each dish. The guest should have a sensorial experience with my food.” Rojas has been the chef de cuisine at Annnua, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Spain and a guest chef at MOTO in Chicago.

Zoco has also brought talent to the bar and front of house. The restaurant manager is Kenneth Ooi, who comes from Asia de Cuba in Abu Dhabi and the bar manager is Sergio Luca from Versace Palazzo.

Zoco will be open nightly from 5pm to 2am. zocodubai.com
