World Record attempt

If you want to have a go at making history this weekend, you’ll need to be at the Al Seef Dhow Deck at the waterfront promenade in Dubai on Saturday. Residents and visitors will be attempting to claim the Guinness World Record for the most people lighting LED lights in relay. The attempt coincides with Diwali celebrations, which will see fireworks light up the skies over Dubai Creek. Pre-register at www.ibuz.ae/recordattempt or register on the day from 3.30pm.

There’s a wellness pavilion, a kids’ zone, a VIP lounge and a baking tent that will play host to master patissier Eric Lanlard. The event runs until Saturday at du Arena on Yas Island.
