Veganism in the UAE is becoming ever more popular, but despite numbers rapidly growing, eating out can still be a challenge.

While most menus will have at least a couple of vegan options, the choices can be limiting and repetitive.

But vegans in Dubai are about to be spoiled for choice, with the opening of Veganity, which in true Dubai style will be the largest vegan restaurant in the world.

The menu features more than 200 dishes from around the globe – news which will be welcomed by both vegans and those wanting to lead a healthier lifestyle. Some of the dishes you can expect include gnocchi, vegan ‘meatball’ pasta, and vegan fried ‘chicken’, along with a host of desserts.

The new restaurant is set to open in City Walk 2 on August 16, with a grand opening event offering people a first look and the chance to sample a number of Veganity’s signature dishes.

Many vegans in the UAE will already be familiar with Veganity, which launched the first vegan meal plan service in the country in 2017.

"Taking it a step further, owner and head chef Sky Sommers wanted to create something that’s never been done before by opening the Veganity restaurant in the heart of Dubai on the main street of City Walk, creating a haven for vegans and non vegans to be able to enjoy healthy yet soulful gourmet food that’s just as enjoyable," a spokesman for the restaurant said.

The Dubai restaurant will be the first of many Veganity chains to open, with an Abu Dhabi branch to follow "very soon".
