British celebrity Dane Bowers, who was once part of the R&B boyband Another Level, has launched a new venture in Dubai - a social media show that promises to offer a fresh look at the city's restaurants, called Come Dine Dubai.

In the show, Bowers and a film crew attend the restaurant, review it, meet the head chef and learn how to make one of its signature dishes. “There are reportedly over 8,000 restaurants in Dubai and we’ve been talking to everyone,” Bowers says. “We have got a lot of high-end restaurants but I want to do fun places as well.”

Bowers says he wants his new show to be “an absolute one-stop-shop for all things eat and drink in Dubai. I don’t feel like there’s a platform that really does it.”

The show, Bowers explains, actually takes people into the restaurant, giving them an all-access pass, especially to where it counts – the kitchen. “I go in and sit with the head chef – he makes the signature dish in front of me that he can film and we discuss it’s various attributes.”

Bowers does prove to be an entertaining narrator - check him out below reviewing Dubai’s Bateaux Dubai, a dining experience that takes place on a boat traversing Dubai Creek.

The show will also feature competitions where winners will come and dine with Bowers as he reviews restaurants and there also opportunities to win brunch deals. Follow Come Dine Dubai's Instagram account here
