The venue for the exclusive “Authentique Diner En Blanc” party in Dubai has been chosen; now you just have to wait for an invitation.
This is the second edition of the posh, invitation-only dinner and if you’re lucky enough to get an invite, you must come dressed to impress — all in white. You’ll also be requested to bring some tasty homemade food — but that, too, has to be white.
Authentique Diner En Blanc is a pop-up dinner concept that originated in Paris 27 years ago. It now pops up in more than 20 cities around the world. The party in Dubai will be held on a Friday in December, but guests won’t know where the dinner party will be until the day of the event. Last year, Dubai’s first edition was held on the beach of the Sofitel The Palm. More than 600 guests attended.
In a statement about this year’s event, an anonymous organiser said: “We have found a unique venue and will certainly surprise, once again, our guests. We want to allow them to have fun, and to enjoy Dubai as they probably never have before. They don’t know who we are or where they shall be heading. They just know that it is a dinner, authentic and chic, in white and that it will be a great surprise and an exhilarating moment”.
The strict dress code is all white and chic elegance and originality is encouraged and expected. Organisers say, on the night of the big party, people and tables compete for the most extravagantly white outfit. There is no contact information and no Facebook page — just this hashtag: #debDubai2015
Invitations will be sent this week to the 1,000 people lucky enough to have found their way onto the secret guest list.
