There will be close to 70 new stores at the extension to Abu Dhabi's The Galleria, Al Maryah Island – and the new area will also have a host of food and beverage outlets to unwind at after all that retail therapy.
There will be 17 new cafes, restaurants, fast food outlets and multi-brand concepts at the new part of the mall, which opens on September 4, 2019.
Asha's: the Indian restaurant, named after singer Asha Bhonsle, serves Mughlai fare, from kebabs and curries to naans and biryanis.
Blaze Pizza: The popular California-based pizza chain will makes its first foray into Abu Dhabi. It operates on the "fast fire'd" concept, wherein the pizza is made in three minutes in a searing hot, open-flame oven.
Bouchon Bakery: Another first for Abu Dhabi, this offers artisanal breads and desserts inspired by Michelin-starred chef Thomas Keller's childhood in France.
Caffe Nero: This one's a much-loved mall staple. Case in point: although it already exists in the current Galleria (and five other Abu Dhabi malls), it will also be part of the extension.
Charley's Philly Steaks: Another favourite, Charley's does a mean gourmet fries and is a good substitute for Subway.
KFC: This finger-lickin' favourite is outlet number 32 for the capital.
McDonald's: For when you've blown your shopping budget.
Paul Café: The always-packed bakery is known for its salads, sandwiches and tarts (the latter make a great gift, ribbons and all).
Pf Chang's: Dynamite prawns. Enough said.
Pinkberry: The yoghurt-based dessert parlour is constantly coming up with new flavours, but the lotus is a firm favourite.
Pizza Hut: Personal pan pizzas are the perfect antidote to aching shoppers' feet.
Raising Cane's: With one other branch, in The Dubai Mall, this fast food joint is known for its fried chicken fingers and special Cane's sauce.
Shake Shack: The burger joint that propelled ShackSauce, Concrete desserts and Roadside Double into the culinary lexicon
Starbucks: Vanilla lattes and mocha frappuccinos coming up.
Texas Roadhouse: Not to be confused with Texas Chicken, this steakhouse (currently only at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi), also does country fried chicken, kebabs and Southern fried fish.
The Cheesecake Factory: Another Yas Mall favourite, the Factory celebrates its 70th birthday this year.
Urban RetrEAT: The food incubator space will be part of the Galleria extension by way of its three vendors Al Areesh, Flipt Kitchen and Off the Hook.
There will also be Central Kitchens, a dedicated food arena made up of five "districts", named after the zones of one's home. All we know is that the Living Room, Study, Garden Kitchen, Courtyard and Patio will serve 40 cuisines (there's been no name-dropping yet, other than that of star architect David Rockwell, who conceptualised the space).
