Food news: Shinichiro Takagi in Abu Dhabi and Teavana opens new branch

Kaiseki in Abu Dhabi

From today until Saturday, the Park Rotana Abu Dhabi is hosting Shinichiro Takagi, a chef who specialises in kaiseki (Japanese ceremonial cuisine) at the hotel’s signature restaurant Teatro. For more information about the menu, call 02 657 3333.

 

Teavana at Mirdif

The American tea brand Teavana has opened its second shop in the UAE, at Mirdif City Centre. Specially trained “teaologists” will be in the store to guide customers on the range of loose-leaf teas available and take them on a tour of the tea bar/emporium.

 

Zuma’s new dishes

Zuma in Dubai has some new items on the menu, created by the chef Reif Othman and Zuma’s co-founder Rainer Becker. The dishes, which are in keeping with Zuma’s izakaya concept, showcase specially sourced ingredients from Japan. Call 04 425 5660 or email reservations@zumarestaurant.ae.

restaurant in Dubai

Memsaab is the latest contemporary Indian restaurant to open in Dubai, courtesy of the chef Anil Kumar. Memsaab’s signature dishes include mutton korma badami. Located on the waterfront area of J2 Tower next to the Bonnington Hotel in Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
