Food briefs: Easter treats and Mother's Day deals in the UAE
Easter treats at Atlantis
The pop-up Easter treats shop is making its annual return to Dubai’s Atlantis, The Palm. Traditional Easter sweets from around the world, including tsoureki (Greek egg bread), simnel cake (English fruit cake), kulich (Russian cake) and ensaymada (from Latin America and the Philippines), will be on offer. Open daily from 10am to 9pm, from tomorrow until April 2.
Happy hour at Lamcy
It’s Lamcy Plaza’s 16th birthday and, to celebrate, patrons can avail of a food “happy hour” in the mall’s food court. Every weekday from 5pm until 8pm, from now until May 31, mall shoppers can try out various cuisines. Some of the participating brands are Bombay Chowpatty, Aroos Lebanon, Ciao Ciao, Curry Express, Dukkan Falafel and Wangs Kitchen.
Pantry Cafe to expand
Pantry Café – the month-old, locally born, upscale Jumeirah delicatessen in Wasl Square – has plans to expand into more neighbourhoods in the UAE. This weekend may be the time to try its pizzas crafted from Caputo flour, San Marzano tomatoes and baked on-site in Pantry’s wood-fired oven by a Neapolitan chef.
Mother’s Day deals
It’s Mother’s Day today and the deals are plentiful. Dine at Le Deck in the Monte-Carlo Beach Club on Saadiyat Island, spending a minimum of Dh500, and get a free day pass worth Dh250 for mum. Or head to The Change Initiative in Dubai tomorrow; mothers eat for free when accompanied by their family from 9am to 2pm.
Sweet treats for mums
