Batali’s Eataly in Dubai
Wondering what will take the place of the hoarded-up space in The Dubai Mall previously occupied by Organic Foods and Cafe? Signs indicate that Mario Batali’s Eataly concept will soon make it to our shores. The former Iron Chef’s Eataly Dubai will combine the “elements of a gourmet farmers’ market, a food hall and restaurants, all combined with an educational element throughout”.
Carluccio’s to
open in Abu Dhabi
This summer, Abu Dhabi will finally be welcoming its own outlet of Carluccio’s, the Italian cafe, restaurant, foodshop and deli. There are already five in Dubai and one in Doha. The capital’s 5,281 sq ft Carluccio’s will be located at the Eastern Mangroves development and is expected to open in the summer.
Earth Week at Rainforest cafe
It’s Earth Week at the Rainforest Cafe in The Dubai Mall next week from Sunday to Thursday. Children will plant saplings and nurture them to learn about their role in sustaining the environment. They’ll receive a Young Nature Warrior certificate and leave behind their wish for the planet on the restaurant’s Wish Tree. Call 04 330 8515 to reserve.
Ravioli Festival at La Mama draws to an end
Today and tomorrow are your last changes to sample the Ravioli Festival at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi’s Italian eatery, La Mamma. Hammour-stuffed ravioli with salmon and red capsicum sauce, stewed duck ravioli with basil cream and pine nuts, and giant mushroom and cheese ravioli with clarified butter and sage are but some of the items on offer. Cooking demo at Magnolia Bakery
The Magnolia Bakery's sweet-tart lemon vanilla bundt cake may not be as hard to make as you think. Bloomingdale's at The Dubai Mall is hosting Bobbie Lloyd, Magnolia Bakery's "chief baking officer", who is visiting from Magnolia NYC and will be conducting a cooking demo on Tuesday at 10.30am.
