Christmas at Raffles
Every day this month, the Raffles hotel in Dubai is serving a Christmas afternoon tea, complete with festive songs and mulled drinks. They’re counting down the days until the 25th with a wall-sized, hand-painted advent calendar which has a surprise giveaway hidden behind every door and is opened daily at 4pm. Chefs attempt record
The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and Emirates Culinary Guild are working to break the Guinness Record for the number of chefs gathered together in one place. The attempt will take place on January 4 at Meydan and if the bid is going to be successful, it will require more than 2,011 chefs to don their hats. Visitors can also expect plenty of entertainment and eating options.
Barakat does soups
Barakat juices are a familiar item on supermarket shelves and this month the company is launching its first range of soups. You can buy the preservative-free broths in a number of different flavours: pumpkin and coriander, mushroom and cauliflower, three bean and a low-carbohydrate, low-fat minestrone. The soups are available at select Spinneys outlets in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
