Dh2,500 for New Year's Eve dinner at Nando's Dubai Mall – peri peri with a side of pyrotechnics
Here’s what restaurants in Downtown Dubai are charging for a prime view of the end-of-the-year celebrations
On New Year's Eve, fireworks will shoot out from the Burj Khalifa, and an animation will take over its LED façade. Coupled with Dubai Fountain taking on the world’s longest choreographed fountain show, New Year's Eve in Downtown promises to be spectacular.
But those wanting a front row seat will have to shell out a pretty penny. Dubai Mall restaurants along the promenade are known for being expensive on New Year’s Eve, and this year will be no different.
Just last month Nando’s opened its flagship store in Dubai Mall, right on the waterfront promenade. So, for the first time ever, Dubai diners can enjoy their peri peri chicken with a view of pyrotechnics – but a seat on the promenade will cost Dh2,500 per head. There are cheaper seats available on the terrace and indoors. Customers are advised to make reservations and pay beforehand to secure a seat and make it through security on the day.
Meanwhile, American burger chain Five Guys, which offers one of the best views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain, has two ticket options. The gold ticket, with seating on the promenade, will cost diners Dh1,500 per person while a silver ticket, with seating on the back terrace, will cost Dh1,200. This is the same pricing as last year's New Year’s Eve packages.
Those wanting to catch the Burj Khalifa fireworks can also head to Souq Al Bahar, where a number of restaurants have New Year’s Eve packages. At The Palace hotel, upscale Thai restaurant Thiptara is charging Dh3,045 per person for a seat outdoors (its views are fantastic and it has a very romantic atmosphere).
Meanwhile, Cabana, a poolside restaurant and lounge in Address Dubai Mall is hosting a “white night” themed New Year’s Eve party, with a sharing style menu, for Dh2,020.
The Restaurant in Address Boulevard, is another establishment offering great views of the fireworks. From 7pm to 3am, unlimited select beverages, appetisers, a main course and dessert (designed for sharing) will set customers back Dh2,950 per person.

A seat on the terrace will go for Dh1,750, while a seat inside goes for Dh900. This includes drinks, appetisers, mains, sides and dessert. And, of course, that will surely come with the array of sauces Nando’s is so famous for.
A gold ticket for the promenade seating will cost Dh1,500, while a silver ticket for terrace seating is Dh1,200. The package comes with unlimited food, which means whatever the burger chain has on its menu plus giveaways. Reservations can be made directly with the branch.
Those thinking of stopping by the International House of Pancakes, which has a terrace that looks out at the Burj Khalifa, will have to pay Dh1,150 per person. This includes a set menu with drinks, starters, a main course and dessert.
