Coronavirus: brunches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi that have cancelled – from The Edition to Al Qasr
A selection of restaurants in the Emirate have temporarily called off their Friday brunches
A number of brunches in Dubai have cancelled their offerings on Friday, March 20, due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19.
The National confirmed with Jumeirah reservations that Friday brunches at The Hide and Arboretum at Jumeirah Al Qasr; and Villa Beach and Kitchen Collection, Jumeirah Beach Hotel were all cancelled for this weekend. Summersalt at Jumeirah Al Naseem is closed to external guests until further notice, which means its weekly brunch has also been cancelled. A decision on further brunches, such as Mina Salam and La Parrilla, is yet to be made.
Atlantis, The Palm's weekly Friday buffet brunch at Saffron has been cancelled until the end of March; the hotel confirmed that all March brunches will be cancelled, but restaurants will still be serving a la carte menus.
Atlantis's Cirque De Cuisine was also due to take place on Thursday, March 19. The wandering dining experience has also been cancelled.
Like Atlantis, The Palm, Brasserie 2.0 at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa has cancelled its brunch on Friday, March 20, but will be offering an a la carte selection in its place. No decision had been made for Friday, March 27 at the time of writing.
Zero Gravity Dubai has cancelled its brunch on Friday, March 20. The beach club and restaurant is not currently taking reservations for Friday, March 27.
STK Downtown Dubai is currently taking reservations, however the team acknowledged by phone that the situation is very "changeable", so brunches this Friday may not run as planned.
At the time of writing, the majority brunches that were contacted in Abu Dhabi were all planning on going ahead. However, a representaive from The Abu Dhabi Edition confirmed to The National that the Annex Animals Brunch has been postponed, however Alba Terrace Friday Brunch is still due to proceed.
