With all the choices on restaurant menus these days (complete with long-winded explanations of each dish), it’s nice to find a place that’s keeping it simple. Real simple.
Burger Joint NY has opened its first restaurant in Abu Dhabi at the Nation Galleria on the Corniche. The restaurant comes from New York City and already has a successful outlet in Dubai. The eatery is proud if its home-made, gourmet burgers and lets the meat speak for itself. The meat comes from top shoulder certified Angus beef. It’s chilled (not frozen) and minced by an in-house butcher. The burgers are then grilled on coals imported from the US.
The list of toppings is short and simple. You can choose from lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced pickles, mustard, ketchup and mayo. That’s it. For sides, you can choose from French fries and a whole pickle. For desserts, it’s just a brownie or a pieshake.
The Abu Dhabi outlet is modelled after Burger Joint NY’s original hidden location in NYC. The restaurant in Nation Galleria is concealed by a huge red curtain — you’ll find the entrance down a dark hallway, illuminated by a neon burger sign.
