A new food festival is coming to Abu Dhabi and Dubai – and anyone with a taste for Filipino cuisine (isn't that all of us?) is going to be delighted.
Filfood Fest, which takes place at restaurants across both cities from June 12 to July 12, will celebrate Filipino ingredients, dishes and style of cooking. It is hoped that more than 100,000 customers will experience Filipino food during the 30-day festival. There will also be demonstrations from award-winning Filipino chefs.
Julyss Albor, who worked as an executive chef at Elite MC Group Abu Dhabi for seven years, and John Buenaventura, executive chef at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Dubai, are both on the Filfood Fest culinary committee.
Chona Bernabe, of the Al Golden Pinoy restaurant near Madinat Zayed, said: “It’s the right time to promote our own food. Filfood Fest will be beneficial to restaurant owners.”
