The InterContinental Hotels Group has a new children’s menu with more exciting choices than the same old chicken nuggets and fries we’re used to seeing.

The Planet Trekkers Children’s Menu was designed by the celebrity chef Theo Randall and children’s food expert Annabel Karmel, MBE. The menus are available now in Intercontinental hotels across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, though they’re set to be available globally by the end of July.

The new dishes are designed to be nutritious, but they’re also designed to encourage food exploration in kids so they can discover new tastes from around the world. Some of the items on the new menu include scrummy potato and pumpkin mash, broccoli sweetcorn fritters, happy tomato risotto and wok and roll pad Thai. Among the desserts are very berry yogurt ice cream and iced watermelon popsicles.

My daughters and I are both sick of uninspired children’s meals at restaurants everywhere, so this new kids menu alone is enough to get me into an InterContinental hotel for dinner. Here’s hoping more restaurants will follow suit.
