No plans for the week yet? With the temperatures rising, this is the best time to go outside your comfort zone and try something new. Here’s a look at five free things happening around the UAE this week.

Beat the Camel — Yalla Laughs (Abu Dhabi)

Looking to get your laugh on? Head to the Beat the Camel challenge at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi where up to 12 amateur comedians will compete against one another and the clock by trying to survive on stage for five minutes. Select audience members will be given large Camel cards to judge performances and if three go up, the comic is off the stage. Whoever is able to survive the five minutes will move on to the final round, which will determine the winner.

The event takes place at Le Méridien Abu Dhabi on August 14 at 8pm

Primal Gym Ladies Day (Abu Dhabi)

Primal Gym on Reem Island in Abu Dhabi will be kicking off its first-ever Ladies Fitness Day. The event is free and provides access to all of the fitness classes held at the gym on Wednesday, August 16. The gym has also teamed up with Glam House Beauty Salon to offer some well-earned pampering after a hard workout. The group fitness schedule for the day includes yoga, Bodyattack, Grit, and Workout of the Day. This is expected to become a weekly event.

The event takes place at Primal Gym on Reem Island on August 16; classes start from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
