US designer Tory Burch turns love of the Middle East into capsule kaftan collection
The style maven was in the UAE this week to unveil the one-of-a-kind pieces
After recently visiting the region, Tory Burch decided to turn the memories of her trip into more than just a post-travel photo album.
Instead, the American designer used inspiration gleaned from the Middle East to create an exclusive capsule collection of four intricately adorned kaftans.
The 53-year-old, who launched her eponymous label in 2004, crafted the one-of-a-kind designs in homage of her visit.
The four kaftans are now on display at Level Shoes in The Dubai Mall until Wednesday, November 13, after which they will be gifted to fashion school Esmod Dubai.

“The kaftan is a classic piece and reminds me of the chic, effortless attitude of women in the Seventies, including my mother," Burch said about the collection. "Apres-swim, she would tie up her wet hair and throw on a kaftan over her maillot – unbelievably stylish.”
The collection comprises four hand-stitched kaftans, each complete with artful embellishments, which took 300 hours to create in total at the label's New York atelier.
To launch the pop-up in The Dubai Mall, Burch visited the UAE this week where she took some time to explore both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The designer ventured into the Dubai desert, where she cuddled up to a camel and enjoyed some traditional Arabic coffee.
Burch also stopped by the city's spice souks, as well as visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the capital.
On Tuesday evening, the designer feted the collection's launch with a star-studded dinner at the One & Only Royal Mirage resort in Dubai.
Models Arizona Muse and Leomie Anderson jetted into the emirate for the occasion, where they were joined by regional style stars including Karen Wazen, Nour Arida and Leena Al Ghouti.
