'The Sky is Pink': Priyanka Chopra champions Indian designers during tour for her latest movie
The actress has been hitting the press trail for the biographical film in her home country this week
It premiered last month at the star-studded Toronto International Film Festival, where Priyanka Chopra hit the red carpet in a tiered, strapless Marchesa gown.
And now, the actress is on the promotional trail for The Sky Is Pink, her latest film, in which the 37-year-old plays one half of a couple whose love story is charted across 25 years.
Chopra, who is married to musician Nick Jonas, has been in India this week promoting the biographical film, her first Hindi work in three years.
The movie, the only Asian title to be included on Tiff's prestigious gala line-up in September, is directed by Shonali Bose and stars Farhan Akhtar opposite Chopra.
The Sky Is Pink is told from the perspective of the couple's daughter, the real-life Aisha Chaudhary, an inspirational Delhi teenager whose life was cut short by a rare genetic disorder.
Chaudhary delivered a Ted talk and wrote a book on her battle before her death in 2015 at the age of 18. But the film focuses on her parents, exploring how their marriage and love survived the loss of two children.
"People get surprised when they see The Sky is Pink and they're like, 'this is not a Bollywood movie.' Bollywood is not a genre!" Chopra told AFP in Toronto about the film, which is due to be released on Friday, October 11.
Ahead of its release, the actress has been promoting the moving story in Mumbai and Jaipur, and providing a generous dose of sartorial inspiration (as well as style) while doing so.
Here's everything the star has worn on the press tour so far.
Chopra kicked off her time in Mumbai in this sunny yellow midi, with a high, gathered neckline.
For an appearance on reality show Dance Deewane, the star wore a floral sari and jewellery by India's Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
This ditsy-print maxi featured a tied neckline and romantic flowing sleeves.
This chocolate-hued, blazer-style dress offered a sleek, evening-appropriate take on suiting.
This London label's one-shouldered dress made a statement in a punchy red and with a structured silhouette.
Chopra championed the Indian designer again in a polka-dot sari, worn for an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show.
This floral, ruffled mini dress is the epitome of late summer dressing.
Tailored trousers and a silk cami were enlivened with block-colour stripes.
This flowing white ensemble was imbued with poise.
Oscar de la Renta
Metallic embroidery added a little extra sparkle to this featherlight navy midi.
This intricate chikankari saree featured jewelled straps and a delicate, neutral colour palette.
Chopra offset this baby pink number with stained fuchsia lips.
This custom outfit played with proportion in an unexpected fashion.
