Emirati football player Omar “Amoory” Abdulrahman endorses Nike’s all-white sneaker collection
Football player Omar “Amoory” Abdulrahman features in Nike’s autumn 2017 Sportswear Sneaker collection, which landed in the UAE on August 7.
The range includes classic designs from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, including the Nike Cortez, Air Force 1, Huarache and Air Max 1. Each style has been reinterpreted in the season’s favourite sneaker shade: pristine white. Amoory says it’s his go-to colour for the summer months because “wearing white makes any outfit look fresh and effortless”.
That’s exactly how the Emirati sportsman, known for his hair and his flair, comes across in the campaign, which was shot by fashion photographers Mert Alaş and Marcus Piggott, and styled by Gadir Rajab, editor of Oyster Magazine.
Rajab, who’s a photographer himself, says: “From the courts of Wimbledon to runways or street style, a crisp shirt, or fresh linen trousers with a white classic sneaker, is my go-to look and my inspiration for summer styling.”
Amoory, who says he loves the “variety of this all-white collection”, lifted the coveted 2016 AFC Player of the Year Award, only the second Emirati footballer to win the title in as many years.
