A childhood love of fabrics and embroidery naturally led Rami Kadi to Esmod, the world-renowned fashion school in Paris. Upon his graduation in 2008, Kadi was selected by the Starch Foundation to showcase his first collection, and his success was immediate.
Three years later, when he was just 25, Kadi launched a studio in his native Beirut, and his own boutique followed. His reputation for haute couture among his clients quickly pricked the ears of the A-List, and his designs soon became commonplace on the world's red carpets. The American-Lebanese designer dressed Hollywood's Rachel McAdams, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez last year alone, as well as Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor, each looking to the label for its fusion of romantic details and glamorous touches.
Kadi showed his haute couture collection in Paris in 2014 and it seems that the designer's efforts over the past five years showcasing his crafts have paid off. On Tuesday, he will host his first show at the ultra-exclusive biannual Paris Couture Week – the pinnacle for any haute couturier.
"I'm feeling super-excited and humbled to be showing at Couture Week," Kadi told The National. "It's a very special moment."
Held in the Four Season Hotel George V, the runway display will showcase a collection by Kadi that is inspired by "the free spirit and creativity" of American music festival Burning Man. "[Kadi] will be offering everything he is known for," a spokesperson for the brand told us.
The front row can likely expect lashings of luminescent embellishments, mesmerising colour combinations and artistic silhouettes.
