Ayesha Depala is one of the preeminent names in fashion in the UAE. The Dubai-based designer launched her eponymous brand here 15 years ago, so there are few better suited to look at the evolving fashion scene in the country than her.

Depala spoke with The National's Panna Munyal to evaluate an evolving fashion scene over the past decade. They discuss how international tastes find their way to the UAE, Dubai's place as a force in the fashion world, how the recent modest-wear trend is here to stay, and how the next ten years could look.
