Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi to get a flooded cinema
Cinesplash will be the first-of-its kind attraction in the UAE
There's being immersed in film and now there's being submerged.
Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi is introducing a first-of-its kind attraction to the UAE - a 5D cinema theatre that fills up with water.
Announced during the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, the waterpark's Cinesplash will use an array of special effects to tell the story of the “Legend of the Lost Pearl”, the award-winning story inspired by the UAE’s pearl diving past.
Audiences will follow Dana quest through the sands of Abu Dhabi to recover her village’s beacon of prosperity, the Mother Pearl.

The 3D film will be accompanied with stimulating effects including spraying water, water explosions, rain, waterfalls, neck blasts, water guns, and fountains.
RGB lighted bubbles in the theatre walls and ceiling will be accompanied by ground fog, leg ticklers, wind effects, and 3 degrees of motion on vibrating seats.
To cap it off, Cinesplash will fill up with 45-50 centimetres of water.
“This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting new additions to our line-up of experiences and we are very proud to be the first waterpark to introduce this attraction to our guests in the region” said Bianca Sammut, Yas Waterworld general manager.
“Providing visitors with fun aquatic adventures with local personality is at the heart of what we do here at Yas Waterworld, and we are grateful for our team’s hard work and relentless dedication in bringing this experience to life. We look forward to celebrating the legacy of our home through this dynamic experience.”
Yas Waterworld’s Cinesplash is due to open in June.
