Ready to rave? Party Monsters, the UAE’s first family-friendly rave, is set to launch The Backyard at the Steigenberger Hotel in Business Bay  on November 11.

Party Monsters is a grass-roots mash-up of music and activities for the whole family. It aims to recreate the festival feel of a rave, but inside a safe and fun environment that's welcoming for all.

Events will feature local and international DJs playing a mix of club classics, with popular house, garage and drum & bass music. Sound levels will be maintained at a lower level to ensure it is 100 per cent safe for children of all ages.

Party Monsters is founded by Vip Patel, the owner of Dubai Dad blog, and Tim Woodstock, champion of the drum & bass genre in the UAE and founder of Bassworx.

“Drawing on our collective experience as new parents and veteran promoters within the nightlife industry in the region, we saw an opportunity to start something different for families much like our own,” said Woodstock.

“We’ve paid attention to detail and given a lot of thought to what our audience would like in an afternoon to unwind and listen to good music from back in the day, and better yet, share it with their families.”

Infants and toddlers can also get in on the action by enjoying the Soft Play Chill Out Zone, with a ball pool, tents and tunnels, as well as a baby sensory dance floor with bubble machines, parachutes and pompoms, giant balloons and kid-friendly club lighting and visuals.

There will also be an arts and crafts area, face-painting and balloon animals, and baby changing and feeding stations.

Street magician Darbie Kim will roam the event performing illusions for adults and children. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy arcade games at the Hub Zero arcade station.

To make things a bit more fun, there will be optional fancy dress theme every month, giving kids a chance to dress up as their favourite animals and characters. The launch event is themed Jungle Friends, where guests of all ages are encouraged to come dressed as jungle animals.

Headlining the season opener will be History of House’s Jon Besant. Sharing the decks with Besant will be Dance FM’s latest recruit and Party Monsters’ very own Woodle as well as Bassworx resident Tigger.

Tickets are Dh70 per adult and Dh35 for kids, while children under two enter free. The fee includes access to all areas and a party bag with glow sticks, earplugs and discount vouchers to some of Dubai’s top family attractions. Tickets can be purchased on www.platinumlist.net
