Children in the capital are set to have a thrilling start to next month, with Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opening a series of new attractions designed especially for little ones.

The Family Zone, which will officially launch on Sunday, March 1 at the Yas Island destination, features four new kid-friendly rides, all based on some of the theme park's most famous adult-sized experiences.

The zone is made up of the high-octane Formula Rossa Junior rollercoaster – the adult version is the world's fastest 'coaster – the Turbo Tower rollercoaster, a Speedway Race and the spinning Flying Wings ride.

"The inspiration behind Family Zone was to create an area dedicated to entertaining our younger guests, allowing them to experience thrills similar to the adult experience," Bianca Sammut, general manager of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, tells The National.

To further bolster Ferrari World's child-friendly offering, the park has also added a new kids' menu at its on-site Italian restaurant, Mamma Rossella.

The Family Zone isn't the only new attraction coming to the motoring-inspired theme park this year, which will mark its 10th anniversary in November.

Ferrari World will launch a Roof Walk experience, allowing guests to set foot on the venue's signature canopy, as well as a 400-metre zip line.

Both experiences, for which launch dates are yet to be confirmed, will be sold separately from the park's general admission pass.

"We put guest experience at the heart of everything we do and make it a priority to continuously elevate the offerings we deliver for both residents and tourists in the UAE," said Sammut.

Ferrari World, which features a range of rides and attractions inspired by the carmaker, is already home to the world’s fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa, as well as live shows, driving simulators and Flying Aces, which has the world's tallest non-inverting loop.
