Dragon Mart has long been one of Dubai's most popular shopping destinations and a one-stop shop for bargain-hunters. And the experience is set to get even better as Nakheel recently opened a retail complex and multi-storey car park at Dragon City, home to Dragon Mart.

The Dh169 million complex was officially opened by Ali Rashid Lootah, Nakheel chairman on Monday, November 18. With four levels and around 150 shops and kiosks across its 118,000 square feet of ground floor retail space, Dubai customers will find themselves spoiled for choice. Making access to the complex easier is a multi-storey car park with 900 parking bays.

Sun Tour, which is one of Dragon Mart’s biggest and longest-standing tenants, will be occupying the entire retail area with a range of shops selling everything from clothes and household goods to electronics and luggage.

To make things better, there will be a special promotion to celebrate the opening, running until Monday, February 17, 2020. Shoppers spending Dh200 at Sun Tour stores in the new complex stand the chance to win a number of prizes including smart phones, smart watches, a go-kart and a Geely SUV.

The new complex was built in an effort to meet growing customer demand at Dragon Mart, where more than 1,700 Chinese tradesmen and women operate 5,000 shops, restaurants and entertainment outlets. About 40 million people visit the location each year.

Dragon City, which is home to Dragon Mart 1 and 2, is the world’s biggest Chinese trading hub outside mainland China. The development also has an ibis Styles hotel, which opened in 2016, and a Premier Inn, opening this year. Dragon Towers, the community’s first residential development, is currently under construction.
