Clymb: The world’s tallest indoor climbing wall is set to open in Abu Dhabi soon
The project was delayed by a 2018 fire but is set to open in early 2020
The UAE's rock-climbing enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that the world’s largest indoor, air-conditioned climbing wall is set open in Abu Dhabi next year.
Clymb Abu Dhabi is reportedly looking ready to open in early 2020. Located on Yas Island and connected to Yas Mall and Ferrari World, the sporting facility will feature the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall at a height of 43 metres, which makes it perfect for beginner, intermediate and expert climbers.
There will be four walls of varying and increasing difficulty.
And it doesn't end there. The $100 million (Dh375 million) project will also be home to the world’s widest flight chamber, according to developer, Miral.
The flight chamber will allow guests to mimic a skydiving experience in a 9.75 metre-wide chamber, which makes it the world’s widest. So, if you're too afraid to commit to a full Skydive Dubai jump, you can get a taste for the adventure sport here.
In March 2018, progress of the the indoor skydiving and climbing wall venue was delayed when a fire broke out at the construction site. It had been scheduled to open last year.
The project was 35 per cent complete when it was announced in late 2016. It is not known how advanced construction was at the time of the fire, although the major structure and some panels appear to now be in place.
