Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to become parents for the first time in just a few short weeks, and it seems the royal is getting his last-minute practice in.

The Duke of Sussex was filmed cooing over a newborn during a royal visit to The Scar Free Foundation in Birmingham this week.

Prince Harry was filmed chatting to friend, Paralympian and Royal Marine veteran JJ Chalmers, and doctors at the hospital, during his visit.

Chalmers's wife Kornelia then appeared with five-week-old James, who the royal immediately turned his attention to. However, baby James didn’t seem as thrilled to see Harry, letting out a wail after the prince gave him a pat on the back.

Although the royals are yet to confirm an exact due date, Meghan let slip during a royal visit in January that the baby would be born in April.

The Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a lavish baby shower in New York in February, as she was joined by her former Suits cast members and celebrity friends to celebrate the impending arrival.

The shower was held at The Mark Hotel on New York’s Upper East Side on Wednesday, February 20. The bash is believed to have been hosted by tennis ace Serena Williams and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, both of whom attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding last year.
