Johnson joins a growing list of celebrities, such as Heidi Klum and rock band Kiss, who have launched weird and wacky products

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been cooking up something special. The wrestler-turned-actor-turned-entrepreneur has teamed up with energy drink company Zoa to launch a health-focused beverage made with natural caffeine and vitamins.

The Fast & Furious star announced the collaboration on Twitter on Monday to his 15 million followers. "Ladies and gents, it's our honour to introduce you to @zoeenergy," he wrote. "The first of its kind clean and healthy energy drink that champions the everyday warrior in all of us who lives life positive."

He added that the launch will be in March.

Johnson is, of course, not the only celebrity to launch a weird and wacky new product that’s not a perfume, make-up or clothing line.

Here are a few other surprising celebrity products that have cropped up in the past …

One Direction Monopoly

You know you've made it when you've got a Monopoly board game named after you – and with your faces on it. That's what happened to One Direction, the world-famous boy band made up of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and formerly Zayn Malik. The fast-trading property trading game is a natural fit for the singers of Fool's Gold, after all.

The properties on the board have been replaced by the band's career highlights. This includes Royal Variety Performance, The Brit Awards and auditioning for The X-Factor. Train stations have become different tours, and the obligatory £200 taxes are now "buy concert tickets".

Kiss Kasket

This is probably the weirdest one on the list (arguable, though): rock band Kiss and its line of caskets, also known as funerary boxes. These went on sale in 2001, had a slight hiatus from 2008, then the second-generation models were released in 2011.

These are wrapped in Kiss branding with black velvet interiors, and would make an excellent gift for any diehard fan.

They’re no gimmick either: they have indeed been used before, by no less than Dimebag Darrell, the beloved guitarist of Pantera and Damageplan, as well as his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul. The pair were both buried in their very own Kiss Kasket.

Steven Seagal's Lightning Bolt

Perhaps it's not surprising that Johnson isn't the first celebrity to break into the energy drinks market. Steven Seagal actually beat him to it, back in 2005. Lightning Bolt, the so-called "Asian Experience energy drink", purported to be the first such beverage to contain Tibetan goji berries and Asian cordyceps. Seagal even claimed that he personally backpacked through Asia collecting the ingredients, according to Adweek, hence the drink's "untold power".

It didn't go down so well, and today it's said that Seagal doesn't even speak about it.

There is, however, a can up for sale on eBay for a whopping $6,900 (it sold for $2.99 a can at the time). So it's not all bad.

Heidi’s Fruit Flirtations

When you think of supermodel Heidi Klum, perhaps sugary snacks might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But if you ever saw her line of Fruit Flirtations, the packets of which were adorned with a sketch of her face, then it might.

The sweets were marketed as fat-free, healthy candy (supposedly one of Klum’s favourites), however, they were indeed full of sugar and carbs.

She’s certainly not the first celebrity to endorse or launch some form of snack. There were also Katy Perry’s Popchips and Maria Sharapova’s line of Sugarpova snacks (complete with tennis gumballs).

Bill Wyman Signature Detector

We’ve had drinks, candy and caskets so, naturally, the next choice is a product that detects metal. Ranking high on the bizarre scale when it comes to celebrity-endorsed products is the Rolling Stones bassist’s signature metal detector.

It's said that Wyman, who left the world-famous rock and roll band back in 1993, later took up the new hobby of hunting down metal objects. He's even loaned parts of his collection to museums in the UK, including a Roman lock and 17th-century seal, and written a book about it called Bill Wyman's Treasure Islands.

“Metal detecting is not just for anoraks or eccentrics; it’s probably the best and most enjoyable way of learning about our history,” the former Rolling Stone member said.

Creativity Collection by Paris Hilton

She’s been an actress, model and DJ, launched numerous product lines, spanning everything from perfume to skincare and lingerie. But, did you know that the Hilton heiress also launched the Creativity Collection, a selection of scrapbooking accessories, albums and embellishments for teens and young adults?

Of course you didn't. This happened back in the early 2000s, when she even wrote a monthly blog on scrapbooking.com. The Simple Life star is said to be a keen scrapbooker herself. Who knew?
