American actor Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World), 39, has proposed to Katherine Schwarzenegger, 29, he announced on social media. The children's book author is the elder daughter of actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger and broadcast journalist Maria Shriver.
The pair were first spotted together in public back in June 2018. He'd previously been married to actress Anna Faris for nearly nine years. The pair – who announced their separation in August 2017 – have one six-year-old son, Jack, together.
"Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes!" Pratt wrote on his Instagram post on Monday (January 14). "I'm thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"
Pratt and Schwarzenegger met through Maria Shriver and have been publicly together for just seven months, but things got serious quickly, with Pratt heading out for a family dinner at Shriver's in August.
Back in December, Pratt honoured his new relationship on social media with a post officially announcing the relationship. It was the first time fans got to see never-seen-before snaps of the pair. "Happy Birthday Chief," he wrote. "Your smile lights up the room. I've cherished our time together."
No word yet on how Faris has taken the news, but it seems the exes remain amicable, despite the divorce. They continue to co-parent Jack; Pratt and Schwarzenegger joined Faris and her boyfriend, Michael Barrett, to take the little boy trick-or-treating on Halloween last year.
