All these heroes wear capes: fans set new Guinness World Record at Warner Bros World – in pictures

In honour of Batman's anniversary, the theme park in Abu Dhabi broke the record for 'largest gathering of people wearing capes'

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Batman, Warner Bros World in Abu Dhabi invited guests to head to the theme park on Saturday, September 21 with hopes of setting a new Guinness World Record.

Looking to set the record for the “largest gathering of people wearing capes,” those at the park were given black and yellow capes with the Batman logo on it. After an official count, Warner Bros World have indeed set a new record with 2,266 people wearing capes.

This is just one of the many records that have already been set by the UAE. The country is quite fond of setting or breaking them. Ras Al Khaimah will attempt to put on a record-breaking fireworks display on New Year’s Eve while those in Dubai can head to Guinness World Record Live at Wafi Mall.

Shoppers and visitors will have the chance to train to break records throughout the 10 weeks, and will be given the opportunity to make official attempts to break records on Fridays and Saturdays in the presence of Guinness World Record officials.The 10-week event will run until Saturday, November 23.
