2 Go for bold
Kelaty offers an extensive and diverse collection of rugs, ranging from Oriental and traditional style carpets to more contemporary, design-orientated pieces, made from natural materials, leathers and unusual skins. The bold patterning and colour palette of the soft and sumptuous Fusion Amsterdam Rug has caught our eye.

3 A touch of nostalgia
The Rug Company’s wool and silk Romy rug is designed by the brand’s creative director, Suzanne Sharp, who was on a mission to “combine a nostalgic nod to antiquity with a modern sensual sensibility”. Job well done, we say.

4 African artistry
This carpet from Interior 360 is designed by the Adis Ababa-based artist Kohar Kevorkian and is handwoven using leather strips. The standard size is 250cm x 80cm, making for a long, narrow rug that would look perfect in an entrance or hallway, but both the size and colour scheme can be fully customised.

5 Youthful spread
If you’re looking for a more quirky addition to your space, try the Alfie rug from The One Junior. A monochrome colour scheme in the shape of the Union Jack makes for a modern, punchy floor covering, whether or not you’re a kid at heart.
