Another month, another creative director appointment. Parisian menswear label Berluti ushers in September with the announcement that Haider Ackermann is the brand's new creative director, effective immediately.

The Columbia-born designer has had his own namesake fashion label since 2003, and was rumoured to be on the shortlist for replacing John Galliano at Dior in 2012. There may also be a future for Ackermann at Chanel, since Karl Lagerfeld named him as a potential successor in an interview with Numero magazine back in 2010. But, as we know, fashion is fickle, and with the current trend of creative directors dropping and swapping fashion houses, we really have no idea what the future will hold. For now at least, Berluti is Ackermann's future.

“I am very honoured to join Berluti. This house stands for the essence of luxury menswear and embracing this new adventure inspires me,” he says.

Ackermann will present his first collection for Berluti at the upcoming Paris men’s fashion week in January 2017.
