DUBAI // An electrical surge caused minor disturbances at stations on the Metro’s Red and Green lines on Saturday night.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that it was a minor issue that did not affect the trains or cause delays.

It did, however, affect electrical equipment in the stations as many of the escalators stopped working, leaving commuters to walk.

A handful of people in the Al Ras Station had to be rescued from a stalled lift.

The stations affected lost power for less than 10 minutes as the system was reset.
