The furore of the Rugby World Cup is now officially over for another fours years and Welsh people around the globe might even start thinking about forgiving referee Alain Rolland for that memorable red card in the semi-final.

Q&A:Donal Kilalea, the chief executive of Promoseven Sports and the commercial manager for the Dubai Rugby Sevens explains that corporate hospitality is not just about networking.

Why should companies pay for hospitality tickets at the Sevens? Corporate hospitality at a sporting event really gives people that extra special opportunity to enjoy the game in more comfort and to network. You can invite guests and business associates to spend time outside the office with them.

Is it quite a stuffy atmosphere then? We make it very sumptuous, but given that it is rugby, people need to feel like they can relax. People can come in rugby shirts and it's a pretty social atmosphere. People come with their families and enjoy themselves. The event also attracts a huge cross-section of nationalities.

How many people are usually in the corporate hospitality stand? About 4,000 in total. Corporate hospitality was started at the first event 42 years ago and has built up over the years from a small tent to its own separate grandstand where you have tables for groups of 10 people.

What is different this year about the event? For the first time, there is a separate tournament for eight international women's teams. We also have 170 amateur teams from around the world.

But enthusiasts of the game need not despair, the Dubai Rugby Sevens is just around the corner and should provide a necessary egg-shaped fix until the Six Nations tournament in February.

For those wanting to impress clients, reward staff or cheer up a Welsh acquaintance, corporate hospitality packages are available at rates tailored to healthy entertainment budgets.

And if you're not a gung-ho corporate, but your personal budget is looking particularly balanced this month, you might also think about snapping up some hospitality tickets.

You will need nine friends though, because the tickets cost Dh33,000 (US$8,985) for a table of 10 in the hospitality marquee for two days - Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3.

The price includes a buffet throughout each day - breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Five tokens a person for alcoholic or soft drinks are also part of the deal.

Hospitality guests will have easy access to the VIP stand instead of having to scrum down with the commoners.

Inside the make-shift stadium, 10 of the finest seats will be allocated to hospitality buyers and their friends or guests.

Then, of course, there is the rugby to watch, which will include 16 of the best international sevens teams. They will be competing in one of the oldest international sevens tournaments, kicking off 42 years ago before the UAE was even founded.

In fact, the 40th anniversary of the Emirates falls on the Friday of the tournament, so there will be even more cause for celebration.

However, car sharing might be a good option for those thinking of driving to the stadium, because there are just five park spaces available for each table of 10. We can only hope the referees can do better maths.
