ABU DHABI // Emirati volunteers will be out in force at the Grand Prix, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the crowd.

Takatof, an initiative of the Emirates Foundation to promote a culture of volunteering in the UAE, has provided 500 nationals for a range of roles at Yas Marina Circuit.

“It is essential that the volunteers take part in activities and events across the country, as part of the Takatof programme’s strategy to motivate youth to volunteer and invest their time to express and carry out their social responsibility,” said Maytha Al Habsi, chief programmes officer at the foundation.

“All 500 Takatof volunteers are playing a vital role at the Grand Prix in a large number of volunteering tasks and responsibilities such as hospitality, welcoming the attendees and guiding them around the venue, driving courtesy cars, supporting key services such as guests with physical disabilities and, most importantly, representing the UAE to its international audience.

“By taking part in such events, the Takatof volunteers act as ambassadors to our nation.”

Takatof volunteers were assigned and recruited through the Takatof website and university recruitment campaigns across the nation.
