DUBAI // Two Audi R8s are the latest recruits to Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars.

The arrival of the patrol cars was announced by Lt General Khamis Al Muzainah, the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police. Representatives of Al Nabooda Automobiles and Audi Middle East attended the unveiling at Dubai Police headquarters.

“This comes in the context of the commitment of Dubai Police HQ and Al Nabooda Automobiles together to raise awareness among young drivers, and improve standards of traffic and public safety,” said Ali Al Nabooda, general manager Audi, Al Nabooda Automobiles.

According to Audi, the R8 is the most powerful and fastest production model yet built, boasting a 5.2 litre V10 engine.

“Al Nabooda Automobiles have a strong relationship with Dubai Police and we are proud to see Audi cars in their role to protect and promote traffic safety,” said Enrico Atanasio, brand director of Audi Middle East.

Also joining to the Dubai Police fleet were four Audi Q7 SUVs.

The fleet includes a Lamborghini Aventador, a plug-in hybrid BMW i8, the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid and the Mercedes G63.
