Keep your eyes peeled - it won't be long before an Emirati joins the WWE, says Kofi Kingston who will be in Abu Dhabi as part of the WWE Live.

DUBAI // A WWE wrestler says it is only a matter of time before an Emirati joins the world-famous show.

Kofi Kingston will appear at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City on October 10, 11 and 12 as part of WWE Live.

Kingston believes there is enough interest in the sport in the UAE for the country to eventually produce a champion.

"I guess we'll have to keep our eyes peeled but I'm sure it won't be long," he said. "WWE is very popular over there in the UAE, so it's really up to them.

“We have people from all over the world in WWE. I was born in Ghana, and you have people from Mexico and all over the world.

“As long as you have the ability to entertain, you will have the opportunity to be on the roster.”

Kingston was also part of the WWE Raw show in Abu Dhabi last February and said he took the opportunity then to see some of the tourist attractions.

"We went to Ferrari World last year. They have the world's fastest rollercoaster, so we definitely got involved in that," he said.

“We’ll be there for three days this time so we’d be foolish not to check out the culture.”

Abu Dhabi is now a regular annual stop in the WWE world tour, but Kingston advised people who were not hardcore fans to come along.

“Anyone who hasn’t been to a WWE show live definitely needs to check it out,” he said. “The next time we’ll be in the UAE will probably be in a year, so you don’t want to miss us.

“It’s a show that’s so entertaining and unlike any other form of entertainment you’ve ever seen.”
