FUJAIRAH // The first batch of almost 200 Polish tourists arrived in Fujairah on a direct flight on Monday after an agreement between the tourist authority and a tourism group.

The 186 tourists arrived at Fujairah International Airport as part of the agreement between Rainbow Tourism Group and the Fujairah Tourism & Antiquities Authority.

About 4,500 Poles are expected to visit Fujairah over the next six months as direct flights get under way between the emirate and the Polish capital Warsaw.

Visitors were greeted with flowers and a traditional dance performed by 8-year-old schoolchildren, organised by the tourism authority.

One of the authority tour guides said that an itinerary has been prepared to guide the tourists to historical sites during their visit.

“We will take them to see all the historical places, such as Fujairah Fort, Masafi Fort and Al Bidya Mosque,” said Huda Al Mesmari.

“They will also have the chance to enjoy the Hajar Mountains and unique beaches and we will take them to the Friday Market and the Cultural Village.”
