Al Jaber wins Saadiyat contract
Al Jaber Building has been selected to build the Dh1.77 billion Hidd Al Saadiyat Villa Development by the Saadiyat Investment & Development Company (SIDC).
The luxury villa complex on Saadiyat Island will stretch along almost 7 kilometres of waterfront. Al Jaber Building, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi-based Al Jaber Group, will build 462 villas on an area of about 1.5 million square metres.
The development will also include two community centres.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2016.
The development of Saadiyat is intended to add luxury housing to Abu Dhabi. The first villas on the island were handed over in 2011.
The island will also be home to the Saadiyat Cultural District, where a Louvre and a Guggenheim museum will be built. Luxury hotels, the Monte Carlo Beach Club and the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club add to the island's offerings.
SIDC is part of Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development and Investment Company, which has been tasked with boosting the emirate's appeal to tourists and property investors to help to diversify the economy.
