Abu Dhabi // Visitors can find all there is to see and do in the emirate with the official tourism iPhone application.

The “visitabudhabi” app gives instant information on attractions, highlights culture and heritage, and provides full hotel listings.

It also gives quick answers to frequently asked questions, the state news agency Wam reported.

Launched by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, it can be downloaded for free at the Apple store and is constantly updated with information from www.visitabudhabi.ae.

Mouza Al Shamsi, marketing director at the authority, said the comprehensive app was another part of Abu Dhabi’s digital strategy.

“It joins our dynamic destination website and established core social-media channels in an expanding digital product line-up,” Ms Al Shamsi said.

“Now we are going mobile, first with iPhone and by the end of this year the app will be available on all key platforms – iPad, Android and Windows phone.

“We hope users are happy with the app but we are going to consistently monitor and fine-tune it to provide the best destination service possible.”

The app is supported by an Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre map, which includes news and events, restaurants, malls and spas.
